Former Kennedy Collection of Aubrey Mayhew to be Sold

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 5, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- After forty years of guarded seclusion Aubrey Mayhew has released his collection of Kennedy memorabilia including the original Lee Harvey Oswald Sniper's Perch Window. This is rumored to be the world's largest Kennedy collection containing approximately 400,000 items and will be of interest to: historians, museums, collectors and assassination conspiracy theorists and the public in general.

The volume and scope of this collection represents a sociological study of a world changed by a November day in 1963. As a one time owner of The Texas Book Depository Building in Dallas, Mr. Mayhew had been able to acquire many items from that site including the sniper's perch window, Lee Harvey Oswald's work table and hand written ledger book. The collection includes: 1000's of letters, documents, signed items, personal items and photographs from JFK, RFK, Jackie Kennedy, other Kennedy family members, Jack Ruby, Lee Harvey Oswald and more related people. This collection also goes on to include all forms of media including books, film, video, publications and video. Of special interest to collectors will be coins, stamps and metallic arts which Mayhew has written a book on.

Items like the trunk full of Jack Ruby documents and Lee Harvey Oswald's ledger book, stored away for years in this collection have a potential to re-write history. Who knows what a modern crime lab could do with gun shot residue tests on the window today that were unavailable in 1963. In addition to the historical and academic significance of this collection there could very well be at least one of every Kennedy related item ever produced in this collection. This sale will be of interest to all levels of the American public and will be fascinating to watch unfold.

Mr. Mayhew has detached himself from the collection to focus his attention on other projects but is still available for consultation. For any and all information please use the contact information provided below.
