With a Little Help From My Friends, 2005 US Air Guitar Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Ten hours and thirty minutes remain for Air Guitar Company CEO Paul Thatcher to finish prepping Elaina Vaccaro for a shot at the LA regional title and a slot in the US Air Guitar Championship Finals today at Hollywood's Key Club. "It's been like boot camp," exaggerates Strumbum model Vaccaro. "He's got me watching vintage MTV videos with a cherry red Steinberger guitar slung over my shoulder." Vaccaro's participation as a contestant in the event comes as a result of losing a bet against Thatcher. "She's got plenty of attitude, a few cool moves and should offer serious competition for those veteran players," claims Thatcher.

"I'll get by with a little help from my friends," reveals Vaccaro a.k.a. Cherry Lain, garnering advice as to what not to do from veteran rocker Donny Mancuso, lead guitarist for the Lou Gramm band. "No smilin' man, gotta give good face," laughs Donny. The last stop on their Tutelage de Force was a visit to the great, great House of Guitars to tap Bruce, Blain and Armond Schaubroeck for a little advice on how to bring down the house. "For starters, ya really need to feel the sound of Strat through a Marshall stack on ten," airs Blain. "Other than that, just keep it real . . ." There's no better place on earth to take this test drive than at the HOG, where Thatcher has equipped his band over last thirty years.

The Air Guitar Company is using the timing of the summer air guitar events to launch their new line of women's Strum Undies available on-line at airguitar.com. The campaign tag line "Show Off Your Air Guitar (strings)" tells all.
