British Airways Launches Sleeper Service at Dulles International Airport

Better Night's Sleep Now Possible

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Starting tonight (Wednesday), British Airways' Club World customers traveling from Dulles International Airport, Washington, D.C., to London Heathrow on its 9:55 p.m. overnight flight may enjoy the benefits of the airline's popular Sleeper Service.

The service permits customers to get an even better and longer night's sleep and maximizes the use of the multi-award winning Club World 180 degree flat bed.

The Sleeper Service was introduced on a range of overnight flights from the USA and Middle East last year and includes a choice of five dining options before, during and after the flight, a more tranquil cabin with fewer announcements and complimentary spa treatments on arrival at Heathrow.

Customers also may luxuriate with large fluffy pillows and thicker blankets with sumptuous double-sided cotton.

The airline has recently introduced an enhanced Club World bed with the latest cushioning technology, similar to that used in the latest premium household mattresses, to provide customers with more comfort and further ergonomic support.

More recently, British Airways appointed the aviation industry's first Doctor of Sleep. Dr Idzikowski, one of the UK's leading authorities on sleep based at the Edinburgh Sleep Center, started work in June with a brief to consolidate British Airways' position as the industry leader in sleeping at 35,000 feet.

British Airways' Regional Director of Sales Southeast USA, Derrick Surratt said: "We know that one of the most important things for our business customers is being able to sleep during their flight. Last year we launched the Club World Sleeper Service on a range of overnight flights from the USA and Middle East that enables customers to eat before their flight so they can maximize their sleep onboard. The service has proved extremely popular with our customers who say they can now get up to two hours more sleep."
