Northrop Grumman's presence in Nebraska spans almost 40 years, where it has supported the U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Air Force Weather Agency, the Air Force Research Laboratory and other government agencies. With a total of 750 local employees spread between the new facility and the base, the company's business in Nebraska has expanded to include systems development contracts throughout the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community.

Highlighting today's ceremony were remarks by Dave Heineman, governor of Nebraska; Jerry Ryan, mayor of Bellevue; Mike Fahey, mayor of Omaha; Jerry Agee, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems; and Bob Hinson, Northrop Grumman vice president and corporate lead executive for Nebraska.

"Today's event strengthens Northrop Grumman's commitment to Nebraska, and demonstrates its continued emphasis on growth in the community," said Hinson. "Our new facility offers a superior work environment, where operators, engineers and scientists can collaborate to better serve our defense and intelligence customers to equip them with the most advanced technology solutions possible to meet our nation's biggest challenges. We are proud of our heritage in Nebraska and look forward to continuing our partnership with the state and our Defense Department customers to make this new headquarters a hub for technical innovation."
