OMAHA, Neb., Nov. 18, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Nebraska's largest defense contractor, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC), cut the ribbon today on a new 110,000 square-foot facility, located on Highway 370 near Offutt Air Force Base. The new three-story state-of-the art facility, which houses approximately 400 employees, marks the consolidation of Northrop Grumman's four local sites into one single headquarters.

Northrop Grumman's presence in Nebraska spans almost 40 years, where it has supported the U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Air Force Weather Agency, the Air Force Research Laboratory and other government agencies. With a total of 750 local employees spread between the new facility and the base, the company's business in Nebraska has expanded to include systems development contracts throughout the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community.
Highlighting today's ceremony were remarks by Dave Heineman, governor of Nebraska; Jerry Ryan, mayor of Bellevue; Mike Fahey, mayor of Omaha; Jerry Agee, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems; and Bob Hinson, Northrop Grumman vice president and corporate lead executive for Nebraska.

The OPUS Corporation of Minnetonka, Minn., started construction on the facility in October 2004. In addition to being wired with a robust communications network and the latest software tools, the new complex boasts an expansive research and development lab, a demonstration center, an advanced conference and training center, spacious work areas and a fitness center.
