BlueLinx Corporation to Spotlight Innovative Service Solutions at International Builders' Show

Nation's Largest Distributor to Demo New Decking Materials Estimating Software

ATLANTA, Jan. 11, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- BlueLinx Corporation, America's largest building products distributor, will spotlight the breadth of its high-quality product line and innovative service offerings at the International Builders' Show (IBS), January 11-14, 2006, in Orlando, Florida (Booth W221). In addition to showcasing products built by industry-leading manufacturers, BlueLinx will preview The Deck$timator(tm) its new material-estimating software program designed to save time and customize material purchase lists for deck building projects.

With more than six decades of experience in the building products distribution business, BlueLinx serves as a critical link between manufacturers and end-users-offering more than 10,000 quality building products from 750 diverse suppliers to dealers, home improvement centers and industrial users.

"Our deep industry experience, combined with a commitment to excellence in supply chain management, drives our strategic culture and approach," said George Judd, president and chief operating officer. "We individualize solutions for our customers, and use our nationwide distribution network to ensure that the products they need are delivered when they need them."

PRODUCTS TO FIT CUSTOMER NEEDS

BlueLinx supplies products in two principal categories: structural products, such as plywood, OSB and lumber, primarily used for structural support in construction projects; and specialty products, including engineered lumber, roofing, insulation, vinyl siding, moulding, decking and particleboard.

In September 2005, BlueLinx announced an expanded relationship with Louisiana-Pacific (LP), one of the nation's leading manufacturers of premium building products. Recognized best-in-class, LP WeatherBest(r) composite decking and railing is now available nationwide as part of BlueLinx' outdoor living product offering. The durable, aesthetically pleasing line is available in a variety of styles and colors, with supporting accessories.

To complement its new composite decking offerings, BlueLinx recently developed The Deck$timator(tm), an innovative Web-based tool designed to estimate materials needed for decking projects. The Deck$timator(tm), which will be available free-of-charge to dealers who stock and purchase LP WeatherBest(r) composite decking from BlueLinx, generates a take-off list that is fast, accurate and customized. Scheduled to be available in the first quarter of 2006, BlueLinx will demonstrate the software's capabilities at the company's booth during IBS.

SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS FOR BUILDERS

In a unique effort to strengthen alliances between builders and building materials suppliers, BlueLinx offers Builder Connection(r), a service designed to help builders increase margins, reduce cycle time and improve quality. BlueLinx' Builder Connection(r) representatives, who will be at IBS, work to customize each program to help builders, small and large, drive down costs associated with operations.
