Delta Air Lines Continues Growth in Salt Lake City with First-Ever Service to Durango, Colo.

Special low fares invite customers to try new routes


SALT LAKE CITY, March 30, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Delta Air Lines will offer customers service to another hot vacation destination in the Mountain West this summer with the introduction of new non-stop service between Salt Lake City and Durango, Colo., effective July 1. The new year-round service will be Delta's first to Durango and will continue the growth of the airline's Western hub by adding to the more than 100 non-stop destinations served out of Salt Lake City.

Durango has something for everyone." Delta's new service to Durango will be operated twice-daily by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines with quiet and comfortable Bombardier regional jets. The addition of service between Salt Lake City and Durango is the latest in a series of new destinations planned for Delta's Salt Lake City hub this summer. Earlier this month, Delta announced the addition of seven new non-stop destinations effective June 8 including: Aspen/Snowmass, Colo.; Bellingham, Wash.; Des Moines, Iowa; Fargo, N.D.; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. To celebrate its newest route, for a limited time Delta is offering special introductory airfares for travel to or from Durango. Tickets must be purchased by April 18, 2006.

Salt Lake City is Delta's fastest-growing domestic hub in terms of destinations served. Since October, Delta has added or announced flights to 28 new non-stop destinations from Salt Lake City, including the airline's 100th destination from Salt Lake City in March. Salt Lake City is Delta's largest gateway to Hawaii with non-stop service to Honolulu, Maui and Kona; is the only Delta hub to offer customers year-round service to Alaska; and is a growing gateway to Mexico with non-stop service to Cancun, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan (effective March 8). With its March 2006 schedule, Delta offers Salt Lake City customers more than 300 daily flights to 100 non-stop destinations.

A portion of travel for some itineraries may be on the Delta Connection carriers: Atlantic Southeast Airlines, Comair, Chatauqua, Shuttle America and SkyWest.
