Piccadilly Restaurants Celebrates Grand Re-Opening of New Orleans Location Damaged by Hurricane Katrina

Public Officials, Radio and Festivities Highlight Grand Re-Opening


METAIRIE, La., July 25, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Piccadilly Restaurants LLC, one of the nation's largest Southern, home-style restaurant chains, today announced the grand re-opening of its Metairie location at 2222 Clearview Blvd., on Wednesday, July 26. This is the seventh and final New Orleans area Piccadilly to be re-opened following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

This location was originally opened in 1989 and has served millions of fresh, home-style meals to the New Orleans community. The restaurant has been completely remodeled and now includes rich colors and cobblestone interior, modern light fixtures, classic vintage pictures from historic New Orleans, additional booths, and a completely revamped private dining room. The restaurant employs over 90 people, ten of which originally worked at the same location before Katrina.

A full schedule of events, commencing at 10:35 AM with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Honorable John F. Young, Jr., Councilman-at-Large, Division A and Honorable Thomas J. Capella, Councilman-at-Large, Division B will include live entertainment, giveaways and a live radio broadcast by WNOE.

Grand Opening Schedule of Events

The following events are scheduled for the July 26 grand re-opening of the Metairie restaurant:


  -- 10:35 AM -- Welcome Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting with remarks by:
     Honorable John F. Young, Jr., Councilman-at-Large, Division A;
     Honorable Thomas J. Capella, Councilman-at-Large; Thom Pannullo,
     chief operating officer, Piccadilly; and Mike Swierc, New Orleans
     regional manager, Piccadilly.
  -- 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM -- The Storyville Stompers Band will play,
     greeting guests as they arrive for lunch.
  -- 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM -- WNOE Radio, Country 101.1, will broadcast
     live from the restaurant.  The station will offer WNOE giveaways
     to guests.
  -- 5:00 - 8:00 PM -- Clowns and games featured in the dining room
     entertaining children.
