Amistar Reports Initial APM Sales

SAN MARCOS, Calif., Aug. 14, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Amistar (OTCBB:AMTA) today announced the sale, delivery and installation of two APM(tm) machines to the United States Department of Defense by Amistar's subsidiary Distributed Delivery Networks Corporation. The APM is a highly innovative kiosk that interacts with patients to dispense finished prescriptions in pharmacies and other remote locations. This kiosk is available to patients who have registered to receive their scripts at the machine and benefit by avoiding a wait in line at the pharmacy counter. The APM system manages authorized patient script activity, permits patient consultation with the pharmacy staff by a dedicated telephone at the APM, and provides security against tampering of the machine. It is expected that use of the APM for script dispensing will increase efficiency of the pharmacy staff and will provide accurate and fast service to the patients who have registered to receive this benefit.

Amistar formed its majority-owned subsidiary, Distributed Delivery Networks Corporation, in April, 2004, to market, install and service the APM script dispensing machine at pharmacies. The APM is designed and manufactured by Amistar. To date, the APM has been undergoing beta testing at retail pharmacies in New York and California. The current sale of two units to the Department of Defense represents the first delivery of production APM units. The DOD version of the APM was configured to meet the unique needs of the Department of Defense.
