Presenters are:

Jamie O'Donnell, co-founder, SEO-PR (www.seo-pr.com)

SEO-PR is a search engine marketing firm that provides search engine optimization, search engine advertising, and search engine promotion services. SEO-PR's services use a new integrated marketing communication model to answer a simple but powerful set of questions: "Who seeks what, in which channel, from whom, with what effects?"

O'Donnell says: "It's harder to pitch stories these days because U.S. media companies have cut 70,000 jobs since June 2000... The irresistible force of search engine optimization (SEO) has hit the immovable object of public relations (PR). The result is both a threat and an opportunity."

Katie Delahaye Paine, founder and chief executive officer, KDPaine & Partners (www.measuresofsuccess.com)

Delahaye is also the publisher of the first blog and first newsletters for marketing and communications professionals dedicated entirely to measurement and accountability. She writes KDPaine's Measurement Blog and publishes The Measurement Standard.

Paine will share new metrics and measurement tools that will help you gather the data you need to make better decisions, learn what works and doesn't work in these changing times, and demonstrate the impact PR has on the bottom line.

Darrell Hayes, director for the Weekend Public Communication Graduate Program, American University, Washington, D.C. (www.american.edu)

Hayes also teaches public relations, understanding mass media and communication theory at the university's School of Communication. Prior to joining the faculty six years ago, he was the senior vice president at Chaparral Public Relations, managing director of the Aerospace Education Foundation, and a senior public affairs consultant for the Department of the Air Force. His new book, Public Relations Cases, was released by Wadsworth publishing in May 2006.

Hayes will discuss how schools that teach public relations balance teaching traditional best principles for advocating ideas with teaching new technologies -- technologies that dramatically alter the way public relations practitioners influence publics.
