Expansion in Worldwide Distribution
LONDON -19th October 2006 - Blavod Extreme Spirits plc (BES.L) today announced
that new domestic and export markets continue to come on-stream for the
Company's portfolio throughout its worldwide distribution networks.
In the UK domestic market, the half-year has started strongly with distribution
gains of the Company's brands into more than 430 new stores amongst the top four
supermarket chains. Additionally, the launching of Cockspur rum into the
portfolio has introduced new customers to the Company who not only bought
Cockspur, but also have listed Blavod Black Vodka for the first time, helping to
continue the sales growth of Blavod in the UK.
Further expansion in several of the Company's export markets resulted from
orders in the European country of Estonia, the gateway to large vodka markets
such as Finland and Southern Russia. In the Far East, one of the largest Duty
Free operators listed Blavod Black Vodka which continues the strong growth of
that sector for the Company. Also, in South America, the Company added new
distribution in the Honduras and Panama.
In the US, the Company's tequila, El Diamante del Cielo, continues its expansion
throughout the United States as the product is reaching consumers in 45 states,
including the recently opened New York City market.
Also in the United States, the Company announced the introduction of its Blavod
Black Vodka into the US military's system of Army and Air Force Exchange Stores,
while the Company's Italian wine portfolio continues its success, with
distribution through premier outlets like Beverages and More and the famed
Spanish Bay Resort at Pebble Beach.
