Entropic Opens Silicon Valley Design Center to Service Home Entertainment Networking Market Growth

SAN DIEGO and SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- To meet the needs of its growing customer base, San Diego-based Entropic Communications, Inc. has opened a design center in San Jose, the heart of Silicon Valley.

Initially staffed with a headcount of six, the office is expected to grow rapidly over the coming months as equipment manufacturers and service providers make a play for the final frontier-home entertainment networking, and demand for MoCA-based platforms continues to expand. The design center will be home to both new VLSI and RF design teams.

"We are pleased to be able to tap into the rich technical talent in the Bay Area to fuel our continuing VLSI demands," said Andre Chartrand, VP of Engineering at Entropic. "This new office center complements our existing engineering capabilities in San Diego and Hong Kong."

It is planned that sooner rather than later, regional sales and applications support in addition to design functions will be also done out of this office to better serve Entropic's local San Francisco Bay Area customers.

The design center is located at 2580 North First Street, San Jose, CA.
