Advanced Control Systems Announces 2006 Summary Results and 2007 Smart Grid Marketing Program


ATLANTA, March 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Control Systems, Inc. (ACS) today announced highlights of its 2006 results and announced its 2007 smart grid marketing program.

During 2006, ACS accomplished critical and ground-breaking system and automation application deliveries to utility customers. ACS will focus during 2007 on the expansion of smart-grid programs for new and current customers.

2006 Summary Highlights:


 --  ACS fortified its core public power and cooperative segments with
     smart grid solutions in OMS and distribution automation, and
     increased bookings in the second half of 2006 vs. the same period
     of 2005.

 --  ACS grew its proforma percentage of sales from investor owned
     utilities over the past 2 years, reflecting success in an ongoing
     campaign to penetrate the investor owned utility market.

 --  ACS secured new contracts and contract expansions with utilities
     including, among others, United Illuminating, Oklahoma Gas &
     Electric, NSTAR, ConEd, PPL Electric Utilities, Duquesne Light
     Company, SDG&E, Nevada Power and International Transmission
     Company.

 --  ACS launched the U.S. utility market's first distribution system
     simulator in production at San Diego Gas & Electric. The system
     represents ACS' commitment to market leading research, thought
     leadership and development in partnership with leading customers.

 --  ACS delivered an expansion of the world's most advanced
     self-healing grid program at the Taiwan Power Company in
     Taichung.

 --  ACS set a manufacturing record in May 2006 with the highest
     substation automation production output in the company's history.
