SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 6, 2007 -- More than 75 families throughout the San
Francisco Bay Area will come together on April 7 at the Universalist Church
for the Blind Babies Foundation's sixth annual Beeper Egg Hunt. The beeping
eggs, designed by Carl Zeiss Meditec, Inc., of Dublin, Calif., are battery
operated and emit a high pitched beeping noise similar to a watch or alarm
clock. There are holes at the bottom for sound projection so children who
are blind or visually impaired can easily hear the sound, locate the eggs
throughout the park and add to their baskets. When a child completes the
hunt, they can exchange their beeping eggs for prizes and candy.
This year's event will be hosted by Joel Bartlett of ABC7 News, and
supported by several local Bay Area companies and organizations. Volunteers
from the International Rotarian Youth, U.C. Berkeley Delta Gamma Collegiate
Women and Variety Children's Charity will join the event. Additionally,
Trumpette Clothing will provide t-shirts with a Braille design and Carl
Zeiss Meditec will distribute gift baskets to the children. Music will be
provided by the Irish Folk Group, Banish the Dogs.
The Blind Babies Foundation has been in existence since 1949, supporting
families with infants and preschoolers who are blind or visually impaired
by providing family-centered services to support the child's optimal

with early childhood programs to encourage learning, and more.
