Farmetrics(SM) Prediction Market Announces Top 10 State Contest Winners

WHITE PLAINS, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 9, 2007 -- Farmetrics(SM), the first prediction market tailored for U.S. agribusiness, announced today its 2006 winners. Participants submitted predictions for corn yield, corn harvested acres, soybean yield and soybean harvested acres.

Farmetrics awarded one million Reward Points to agricultural marketing consultant Bret Crotts of Garden City, Kansas, who won the most Reward Points in all the Contests Farmetrics offered in 2006. The Reward Points are redeemable for prizes at the Farmetrics online catalog. Among the items Mr. Crotts plans to redeem points for are a John Deere CX Gator utility vehicle and a computer.

The winner of the Iowa soybean yield and soybean harvested prediction contests, Jason Holthaus, who was the number three participant nationwide in terms of points accumulated, planned to redeem his points for a power sprayer and an mp3 player. "My house and my car both need to be washed, so why not listen to some music on my new iPod while I'm doing it?" he said.

Both Crotts and Holthaus said the secret of their success to the Prediction Market Contests was consistency of participation rather than unerring accuracy, although each hoped to improve their accuracy in 2007. "The information released each week on acreage and yield estimates at Farmetrics.com is interesting, and I like to see how my estimates compare with others," said Mr. Crotts.

The major Contests winners and their states of residence are as follows:

    1. Bret Crotts, Kansas
    2. Doris Shelton, Arkansas
    3. Jason Holthaus, Minnesota
    4. Samuel Hill, Tennessee
    5. Robert Twombly, Kansas
    6. David Auxier, Nebraska
    7. Todd Hagens, North Carolina
    8. Jerome Hagens, Wisconsin
    9. Dean Killian, Illinois, and
    10. Melanie Ohms, Iowa

"Farmetrics participants earn Reward Points redeemable at our online catalog for prizes such as field jackets, cordless drills, overalls, gift cards and travel. There is never any cost to participate or win," said Bill Towles, who manages Farmetrics. "For the 2006 Contests, Farmetrics recognized 88 winners at the state level as well as 235 county Contest winners. As another benefit, only Farmetrics participants have access to the estimates of other participants."
