Ekspress Group doubles print-run of Lithuanian celebrity news magazine Klubas
The Lithuanian celebrity news magazine Klubas, owned by the Ekspress Group, was
relaunched at the start of May with a completely new look and almost twice as
large a print-run.
“We bought the magazine from publishers Lietuvos Rytas in February and gave it
an extreme makeover,” explained Priit Leito, Chairman of the Board of the
Ekspress Group. “The first new issue was released on 2 May with an improved
look, improved content and an improved editorial team behind it. Originally it
had a print-run of 20,000, but for our latest issue it has risen to 37,000,
which is an impressive figure for the Lithuanian magazine market and enables us
increase advertising revenues.”
Klubas' editor-in-chief, Agnė Žemaitytė, said that the magazine's return to the
market was a success: “The reactions we got from our partners, the people in
our stories and the people reading them were all very positive. Everyone
noticed the improvements we had made - the new logo, design and layout, the way
it fits together differently, the new areas of interest we are focusing on, and
the larger format. The high-quality photos in the new issues came in for
particular praise too, from both readers and people in the entertainment
industry.”
According to Leito, the Ekspress Group plans to invest 1.8 million Lithuanian
litas (LTL) (8.2 million EEK) in the weekly magazine in 2007, 0.7 million LTL
(3.2 million EEK) of which in the second quarter. The magazine's marketing
campaign includes a media campaign and exclusive displays put up in 88 shops
and stores throughout Lithuania.
