Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) 2007 Announces Four Advanced Workshops and Fallon Naval Air Station/Virginia City Tour

CMSC 2007 Expands Workshop Programs This Year

RENO, Nev., June 4, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The CMSC Society, the eminent membership association for measurement professionals, today announced an expanded lineup of advanced workshops planned for the annual Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference (CMSC) 2007. The workshop schedule includes: 1) GD&T techniques using Data from Modern Metrology Devices presented by Multi Metrics, Inc., 2) Product Acceptance Testing of Metrology Hardware and Software presented by the Boeing Company, 3) Best Practices in Portable Measurement presented by industry service companies, and 4) Full Consensus Standards for 3D Imaging Systems presented by ASTM International. CMSC 2007 will be held from July 16-20, 2007 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. The conference is the only North American event dedicated to portable measurement and inspection of manufactured and assembled components on the factory floor.

CMSC Conference attendees also have the option to take a guided tour of Fallon Naval Air Station and Virginia City Tour on Friday, July 20th. En route to the guided tour of Fallon Naval Air Station, a tour guide will discuss the history and characters of Northern Nevada. The Fallon NAS is home to the Fighting Saints of VFC-13, the Desert Outlaws of Strike Fighter Weapons Det., and the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center. The air station is known throughout the Navy as the "only facility in existence where an entire carrier air wing can conduct comprehensive training while integrating every element of the wing into realistic battle scenarios." The 14,000-foot runway remains the longest in the Navy, making Fallon a one-stop training facility. The tour will continue west to historic Virginia City with tour guide narration along the way. A box lunch and brief driving tour of this former silver rush town are included on this leg of the trip. Visitors can stroll Virginia City's wooden sidewalks of yesteryear and visit many boutiques, saloons, galleries and museums. The trip back to Reno will take the Geiger Grade route with panoramic views of the Washoe Valley, Reno and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Non-United States citizens must provide country and passport numbers to the CMSC registrar at registrar@cmsc.org. Registration for the Tour ends at midnight Thursday, July 12, 2007.

The 2007 Coordinate Metrology Systems Conference will unveil new white paper presentations delivered by industry experts to explain the successful application of 3D coordinate measurement systems. Attendees can also visit the CMSC Exhibitor Hall filled to capacity with exhibitors who serve the technology needs of the industrial measurement marketplace. From new products to user education to technical guidance, CMSC delivers high value sessions and workshops for its community of expert and novice users.
