Condition Statement on Bob Evans Farms Founder


COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 15, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Bob Evans Farms Inc. and the Evans family released information today that Company Founder Mr. Bob Evans remains in the intensive care unit at the Cleveland Clinic, where he is listed in stable condition. Bob Evans is recovering from pneumonia and has shown steady improvement. He is now alert, following commands and is breathing on his own.

Born in 1918 in the rural northwestern Ohio town of Sugar Ridge, the 89-year-old Evans (born May 30, 1918) was raised in Gallia County, Ohio. He opened a small truck stop in Gallipolis, Ohio, in 1946 and began making his own sausage. Evans and other family members incorporated as Bob Evans Farms in 1953. Bob Evans retired as president of Bob Evans Farms on Dec. 31, 1986.
