FAM JAMS! At Penn's Landing -- New Family Friendly Series Premieres This Summer At Penn's Landing

PHILADELPHIA, July 13, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Premiering this summer, Penn's Landing Corporation is proud to announce four "I Can't Believe They Are Free," Sunday concerts for children of all ages. Presented by Independence Blue Cross, these new additions to the 2007 Summer season calendar at Penn's Landing will take place on Sunday July 22, July 29, August 5, and August 12 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing, located on Columbus Boulevard at Chestnut Street. FAM JAMS! is a partnership with Radio Disney AM 640 and WPVI, 6 abc and features a FREE headline concert, activities for kids and an all around family friendly experience.

July 22 will feature Disney Channel star and Hollywood Records recording artist Jordan Pruitt and Atlantic Records recording artist, Keke Palmer. Palmer is a young and rising star who has appeared in the major motion pictures: Akeelah and the Bee, Barber Shop 2, the made for TV movie The Wool Cap, and the Disney Channel's movie Jump In! She has won both Black Movie Awards and Black Reel awards for her staring role in Akeelah and the Bee. In addition to her acting talents Keke has a powerful voice and has signed with Atlantic records. Her first album, "SO UNCOOL," combines R&B and inspirational lyrics in a youthful and fun way. Keke's musical inspiration comes from influences such as Aaliyah, TLC, and Brandy. Keke hopes that her fans listen to her album and "feel (her) passion for singing and songwriting."

Hailing from Loganville, Georgia, Jordan Pruitt began singing at age 4, yet, at an age when most teens have only begun to discover themselves Jordan Pruitt already has a good sense of who she is. "I'm an all-American girl," she says. "Half girly-girl, half tomboy." There may be two sides to Jordan the teenager. But when it comes to music, there's only one side: Jordan Pruitt is a monumentally talented singer/songwriter with a maturity far beyond her 15 years. As her Hollywood Records debut CD No Ordinary Girl shows, Jordan has the chops to command audience of today and for many tomorrows to come. Jordan has also recorded an original song Jump to the Rhythm for the Disney Channel Movie Jump In. The movie stars Corbin Blue from High School Musical. The track is also on the Walt Disney Records Soundtrack for Jump In.

The Jonas Brothers will take the stage on July 29. "Music on Red Bull." Without hesitating, that's how 17-year-old Kevin Jonas describes the hyper-adrenalized sounds he's created with his two brothers, 13-year-old Nicholas and 16-year-old Joseph, on the Jonas Brothers' debut album, It's About Time. And it's no wonder since the boys' influences include an eclectic mix of artists ranging from the Ramones to the Jackson 5 to the Modern Lovers -- all purveyors of tight, catchy anthems. One thing is for sure, the Jonas Brothers are all ready to keep the momentum going strong. "We go crazy on stage!" says Kevin. "It's so much fun!"

Music always played a major part in the brothers' lives growing up in Wyckoff, New Jersey. Their parents are both musicians, so gathering around the piano for sing-alongs was an essential part of regular family bonding, yet each brother found his own musical calling in a different way. For the Jonas boys, the real fun began as they combined their musical abilities to write and record their debut album together, quickly realizing how lucky they were to have each other for both personal and professional inspiration.

Sunday August 5 will feature The Paul Green School of Rock ALL STARS. The Paul Green School of Rock is built on Green's philosophy that the best way to learn to play music is by actually doing it -- and so the School of Rock Music program supplements weekly private lessons with group band practice and performance in a highly challenging yet supportive environment that motivates kids to "practice, man, practice." The School of Rock All Stars will take the stage at the Great Plaza with a special guest, to be announced.

To teach music, each chapter of the PGSOR stages seasonal concerts at real local rock venues, with themes ranging from Old School Punk to Zappa. These local events are held at such legendary venues as CBGBs, The Trocadero in Philly, and now the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing. The School of Rock All Stars tour represents the culmination of a year's hard work for students at the renowned Paul Green School Of Rock, the original performance-based after-school rock music program in the country for kids. In 2007, the Paul Green School of Rock will stage over 400 local concerts across the country, with a total attendance in excess of 100,000.

August 12 will feature Lisa Loeb. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and deeply immersed in the arts from an early age, Loeb studied piano and music theory and wrote her first original songs with lyrics while still in her early teens. Her breakout song Stay (I Miss You) became part of the soundtrack to the hit motion picture Reality Bites. The Platinum-selling song put Loeb, then an unsigned artist, on the top of the charts earning both a Grammy nomination resulting in a record contract with Geffen Records. Loeb, to this day, is still the only unsigned artist with a #1 single!

Most recently, in 2004, Loeb reunited with her college music partner, Elizabeth Mitchell on the children's CD and companion book Catch The Moon, which earned the prestigious Parent's Choice Award and released her newest CD The Way It Really Is. Universal recently released a collection of Lisa's most requested songs, The Very Best of Lisa Loeb.
