Arxan Joins Uniloc Technology Partner Program

Copy Prevention and IP Protection Solutions Work Together to Comprehensively Protect Software Against Piracy

BETHESDA, MD--(Marketwire - August 8, 2007) - Arxan Technologies, a leading provider of IP protection solutions designed to prevent software piracy and tampering, and Uniloc, whose device locking technology provides enhanced user authentication, today announced a technology partnership. Arxan has become a member of the Uniloc Technology Partner Program, and Uniloc has joined Arxan's family of technology partners.

Uniloc's softANCHOR™ node locking technology combines software-based hardware identification technology with an activation component to provide effective, customer friendly software copy protection. "Node locking is an often overlooked cornerstone of an overall IP protection strategy," said Brad Davis, Chief Operating Officer for Uniloc. "Whether in software management or in DRM applications, binding software to a node is a critical yet challenging problem."

"Protecting software against piracy demands a solution in many layers, including protection of node locking, license management systems and activation. Arxan's IP protection solution, through our GuardIT™ product, fortifies each individual layer and then further binds each layer tightly within itself and the overall application, ensuring that the software will remain secure and virtually immune to piracy when deployed," said Mike Dager, CEO and Chairman of Arxan.

"Arxan welcomes Uniloc's partnership program initiative which recognizes this multi-layered need. This partnership facilitates the creation of a highly interoperable ecosystem where independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprises can choose best of breed solutions to build a comprehensive IP protection strategy best suited to their application security objectives and business needs."

Arxan's GuardIT solution provides durable, comprehensive IP protection for software, without adversely affecting application performance or end user experience. Through an interconnected mesh of small security units called Guards, which are scattered across a compiled binary and then dissolved into the application, Arxan's protection deeply fortifies the overall software product against piracy, tampering, reverse engineering or other forms of attack.

About Uniloc USA

Uniloc USA is the technology leader in electronic physical device recognition for software copy control and information security. The core technology driving Uniloc innovation is Physical Device Fingerprinting, the company's patented method of uniquely identifying a user device, such as a PC, game console, smart phone or cell phone, by the naturally occurring, inherent physical imperfections of that device, and then incorporating that physical device fingerprint into licenses or access credentials. Uniloc's technologies can identify devices with more comparable accuracy than human DNA. Uniloc is the inventor and holder of the seminal physical device locking patent (U.S. 5,490,216) and has 15 related patents pending. Uniloc has applied its Physical Device Fingerprinting technical expertise to several vertical markets, including software publishing, government network access control, online banking and trading, and CD/DVD anti-theft.
