DALLAS, Aug. 8, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The Greater Dallas Chamber will accept nominations through August 31, 2007 for the fifth annual Momentum Awards. The Momentum Awards celebrate companies who have made a positive impact on the economy through job growth and relocation and expansion activities. The award also honors companies that contribute to the vitality of the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Holmes Murphy Texas and The Dallas Morning News sponsor this event.
Awards will be presented at an invitation only ceremony Thursday, October 4, at the Hotel Crescent Court. Hall of Fame quarterback and Dallas businessman Roger Staubach will host this year's event.
Categories are:
* Employment Growth -- Local: increased number of employees and employee percentage increase; National: increased number of employees and employee percentage increase * Corporate Relocation -- headquarters and other corporate facility * Community Investor -- company that has positively impacted the region * Community Catalyst -- innovative company/organization that "thinks out of the box" resulting in regional positive economic impact
Awards will be based on activity June 1, 2006 - July 31, 2007. Businesses may self-nominate or be nominated by an outside individual or entity. Membership in the Greater Dallas Chamber is not required to apply. The deadline for completed applications is Friday, August 31. Applications may be downloaded from www.dallaschamber.org/ecodev.
Past recipients include: Countrywide Financial Corporation, Paradigm Engineering, Celanese Corporation, Gaylord Texas Resort and Convention Center, Atmos Energy and the University of North Texas -- Dallas Campus.
