Bridgeline Software Releases iAPPS Framework and On-Demand Product Suite

BOSTON, Aug. 28, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Bridgeline Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:BLSW) announces today the release of the iAPPS(r) Framework V1.0. The Microsoft .NET-based iAPPS(r) Framework was developed over the past two years by Bridgeline's global R&D team and includes a variety of software extensions that improve the efficiencies and quality of .NET application development. Bridgeline is developing four product suites that will be unified by the iAPPS(r) Framework. Having all four products developed on a single framework facilitates complete integration of data and functions seamlessly across each of the planned products. With this approach, Bridgeline is able to provide increased functionality, a more intuitive user experience and deeper data collaboration across products to its customers. State-of-the-art AJAX user interface controls embedded within the framework are a key differentiator and serve to blur the line between desktop and web-based applications. Custom applications developed on the framework can also utilize these advanced controls and can easily integrate with any of the products before or after initial development.

There is a one-time fee of $2,500 for the iAPPS(r) Framework when used within Bridgeline's SaaS (Software as a Service) environment. Customers preferring a dedicated server environment (within their own firewall or managed within Bridgeline's co-location facilities) can purchase a one-time perpetual license for $10,000. A Developer Edition (DE) of the iAPPS(r) Framework is available to customers interested in leveraging its development abilities and building their own custom applications. A five developer seat license of the iAPPS(r) Framework DE is $25,000. More detailed pricing information is available.

Unified Product Suites

The iAPPS(r) Framework is the foundation of Bridgeline's on-demand product suite that includes the following four products:

iAPPS(r) Content Manager (releasing in September 2007) allows non-technical users the ability to create, edit, and publish content via a browser-based interface. The advanced, easy-to-use interface supports businesses in keeping content and promotions fresh -- whether for a public commercial site or a company intranet. The Content Manager handles the presentation of content based on a sophisticated indexing and security scheme that includes management of front-end access to online applications. The system provides robust library functionality to manage permissions, versions and organization of different content types, including multimedia files and images. Administrators are able to easily configure a simple or advanced workflow, and can accommodate the complexity of larger companies with strict regulatory policies.

Pricing for the iAPPS(r) Content Manager is $1,000 per month when used as part of Bridgeline's SaaS model. Customers preferring a dedicated server environment (within their firewall or managed by Bridgeline) incur a one-time perpetual license fee of $35,000 per application or URL, and are required to pay 18% of the perpetual license for annual maintenance and support.

iAPPS(r) Analytics (planned release in December 2007) measures and optimizes customers' web presence by recording detailed events and subsequently mining data within a web application for statistical analysis. Bridgeline customers will know where their visitors are coming from, what content and products they are most interested in, and how they navigate through a particular web application. Through user-definable web reports, iAPPS(r) Analytics will provide important insight into visitor usage, content access, age of content, actions taken, and event triggers, and will report on both client- and server-side events.

iAPPS(r) Analytics customers will incur a $700 per month subscription fee for the SaaS model. Customers preferring a dedicated server environment (within their firewall or managed by Bridgeline) will be charged a perpetual license fee of $25,000 per application or URL, and will be required to pay 18% of the perpetual license for annual maintenance and support.

iAPPS(r) Commerce (planned release in 2008) will provide an online eCommerce solution that will assist Bridgeline's customers in maximizing and managing all aspects of their commerce initiatives. The customizable dashboard will provide customers with a real-time overview of the performance of their online stores, such as sales trends, demographics, profit margins, inventory levels, inventory alerts, fulfillment deficiencies, average check-out times, potential production issues, and delivery times. Commerce will also provide backend access to payment and shipping gateways. In combining iAPPS(r) Commerce with Analytics and Marketier, Bridgeline's customers can take their commerce initiatives to new levels by personalizing product offerings, improving marketing effectiveness, and providing value-added services or cross selling products.

iAPPS(r) Commerce customers will incur a $560 per month subscription fee for the SaaS model. Customers preferring a dedicated server environment (within their firewall or managed by Bridgeline) will be charged a perpetual license fee of $20,000 per application or URL, and will be required to pay 18% of the perpetual license for annual maintenance and support.

iAPPS(r) Marketier (planned release in 2008), provides a marketing lifecycle management tool that includes customer transaction analysis, email management, surveys and polls, event registration and issue tracking to measure campaign ROI and client satisfaction. Web site content and user profiling will be leveraged to deliver targeted campaigns and stronger customer relationships. The email management features will provide comprehensive reporting capabilities including success rate, and recipient activity such as click-thrus and opt-outs. The iAPPS(r) Marketier will seamlessly integrate with leading CRM's such as Salesforce.com and ad banner engines such as Google.

iAPPS(r) Marketier customers will incur a $250 per month subscription fee for the SaaS model. Customers preferring a dedicated server environment (within their firewall or managed by Bridgeline) will be charged a perpetual license fee of $9,000 per application or URL, and will be required to pay 18% of the perpetual license for annual maintenance and support.

iAPPS(r) is a registered trademark of Bridgeline Software.
