Chanaral Resources Reports On Ground Magnetic Survey

BELLINGHAM, Wash., Oct. 2, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Chanaral Resources Inc. (Pink Sheets:CRLR) (Frankfurt:BYH) announces that it has contracted Quantec Geoscience Chile Ltda to complete a ground magnetic survey and gravity survey to confirm the historical data acquired by ASARCO Chile in the late 1990's.

The ground magnetic survey covers an area 2 km by 3 km with line spacing of 100 meters. The results confirm a significant magnetic anomaly with a strike length of 2 km open-ended in both the north and south direction.

The detailed gravity survey was designed to confirm and expand the strong gravity anomaly related to the magnetite body previously drilled by ASARCO in 1999, which used 200-meter lines spacing with 100-meter stations. The gravity 3D inversion will be a better interpretation tool than the magnetic inversion due to remnant magnetization and demagnetization caused by the high concentration of magnetite on this project. The integrated interpretation of these two data sets may give insight into mineral zoning and possible alteration related to hematite versus magnetite.

This new survey covers an area approximately 5 km long by 1.5 km wide, which expands the 1999 survey by 2 km to the north and 1.2 km to the south. The 100-meter grid density will give good control for modeling. The preliminary results from the new expanded gravity survey indicate additional targets north and south of the1999 gravity grid. The 3D gravity inversion using various geologic controls will define a more discrete target for higher-grade zones, which will be evaluated by the proposed drill program.

Quantec will complete a 3D inversion using the GRAV3D program developed by the UBC-Geophysical Inversion Facility, Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia.

All fieldwork has been completed and the final report and 3D inversion are expected within the month.
