Cox Cable Selects Home Director for MDU Enclosures

Estimated Value of Cox Opportunity At $250,000 to $1,000,000 Per Year

Home Director Now Approved by All Top 10 Cable Companies

CAMPBELL, Calif., Oct. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Home Director, Inc. (OTCBB:HMDO), a provider of reliable infrastructure, entertainment, and control products for the Connected Home market, today announced that the Material Evaluation Committee (MEC) of Cox Cable has selected Home Director as one of only three vendors certified to provide Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) enclosures to all Cox Cable member companies -- Home Director is now approved by the top 10 cable companies in the U.S.

The Material Evaluation Committee of Cox Cable consists of a group of experts whose job is to pick the "Best of Class" products and to make them available to the regional Cox companies. The Material Evaluation Committee evaluates products based on multiple requirements including features, price, reliability, and the performance of the company to fulfill orders in a professional and timely manner.

The BOSS(tm) product from Home Director was selected as one of only three products to fulfill Cox's need for MDU enclosures. MDU enclosures typically sit on the side of an apartment complex to enclose the cable distribution electronics that send the cable signal to the apartments themselves. On average, each MDU enclosure will be wired to approximately 10 apartment units -- implying that many apartment complexes will have multiple BOSS enclosures mounted to them.

One of the reasons the BOSS product was picked is because of the high degree of security it provides. Vandalism and theft of cable service is a major issue to Cox and its affiliates. Therefore, the Material Evaluation Committee performed "Break-in Tests" on all products submitted for evaluation.

"Preventing break-ins is one of the real strengths of the BOSS enclosure," said Ernie Cope, CATV Sales Manager of Home Director. "The BOSS was designed with overlapping edges to make it extremely difficult to pry it open, and it is made of heavy duty reinforced aluminum to withstand a pounding."

This is the third time the BOSS enclosure has been approved by Cox Cable as an MDU enclosure for distribution electronics, but the first time actual break-in tests were performed on all submitted products. The approval lasts for two years, at which point products will be re-evaluated.

Cox joins Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision, Charter, MediaCom, Cable One, Bright House, Insight, and Suddenlink in approving Home Director's BOSS product for MDU enclosures.

The BOSS enclosure is made in the U.S.A. and is available immediately.
