Devicescape Developer Community Provides Free Source Code for Fast Integration and Experimentation

License Agreement, Software Download and Support Available Online

SAN BRUNO, CA--(Marketwire - February 5, 2008) - Devicescape Software today introduced the Devicescape Developer Community -- a special program designed to speed evaluations and encourage non commercial innovation. Devicescape has made its source code more easily available to developers to add to their applications and for testing and experimenting on devices and platforms. By joining the Devicescape Developer Community, developers can now license the Devicescape Connect 2.0 software for free using a simple form and license agreement available online.

"Our mission at Devicescape is to expand the ease of use and the value of mobile internet services," said Dave Fraser, CEO of Devicescape. "By expanding the ease with which a company or individual can engage with and integrate our technology into their devices and applications, we hope to accelerate the delivery of new Wi-Fi products and services to consumers."

With the rapidly expanding Wi-Fi marketplace, device manufacturers are looking for an efficient way to connect Wi-Fi enabled devices to the internet. Devicescape offers a simple, cost-effective way to enable automatic Wi-Fi connections in devices and applications. The Devicescape Developer Community, intended for enthusiasts as well as commercial developers, grants a license release for the development of up to ten devices.

Interested developers can apply to join the program by visiting http://developer.devicescape.com and filing a simple online application. The source code for Devicescape Connect 2.0 is available for various operating systems including Windows, Mac OSX, iPhone and iPod touch, Nokia S60 and Internet Tablets, and will be provided to the applicant upon approval along with associated documentation.

On joining, applicants will automatically become members of the Devicescape Developer Community Forum, where questions can be posted to support the development process. Devicescape will inform the Community Forum of any technical changes to Devicescape, including updates to the software, as well as any general updates and announcements. Developers can also post code samples back to the forum for input and pier review. Future plans include editable online documentation and a bug submission interface.

Devicescape supports over 1000 public networks and makes it easy for consumers to connect their devices to millions of free and open hotspots worldwide, including commercial, municipal and free networks.

Devicescape is free for consumers and is available at www.devicescape.com. Devicescape supports Mac OSX, PCs with Windows XP and Vista, Windows Mobile 5 & 6 Smartphones, Apple iPhone and iPod touch, Nokia S60 Smartphones, and Nokia Internet Tablets with more planned.
