Palme to Represent Sunshine State in South Carolina

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL--(Marketwire - February 11, 2008) - Sunshine State Insurance Company (SSIC)
has appointed Darold B. Palme, a 30-year veteran of the insurance industry,
as State Director for South Carolina, Mark Bowsher, Senior
Vice-President-Underwriting, announced.
Sunshine State writes homeowners, flood, builders' risk, and condominium
insurance in Florida and South Carolina. "We welcome Darold Palme to SSIC,"
Bowsher said, "and we're confident he will be instrumental in accelerating
the Company's growth in South Carolina."
Palme has a broad background in underwriting, marketing, and claims. He
came to SSIC from Royal & Sun Alliance in Charlotte, North Carolina, where
he assisted in run-off of the Company's personal lines business. As State
Director, he will be responsible for implementing and promoting Sunshine's
growth in South Carolina.
A University of Minnesota graduate, he holds the Chartered Property &
Casualty Underwriter designation and the Six Sigma Green Belt
Certification.
Palme succeeds Dave Nell who will continue to serve as a consultant to
SSIC.
