SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2008) - Locus Technologies (Locus), the market
and technology leader in on-demand environmental data and information
management software and services, announced today the hiring of Lance J.
Orton as Senior Environmental Compliance Manager. Mr. Orton comes to Locus
with extensive experience implementing and developing software solutions
for environmental compliance and emissions. Mr. Orton will be based in
Houston, Texas where many of Locus' clients are located.
Mr. Orton's hiring reflects Locus' commitment to continue to expand the
ePortal product offerings. The combination of Locus' experience developing
web software and Mr. Orton's environmental experience will lead Locus'
Software as a Service (SaaS) subscription delivery model into new and
exciting areas. These areas are expected to include Air Emissions,
Greenhouse Gas (GHG), Health and Safety (H&S), and Compliance modules. Mr.
Orton holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University
and has over eight years of experience working for Trinity Consultants/T3,
one of the premiere air management consulting firms in the US. Mr. Orton's
expertise and experience includes developing and implementing many
environmental software solutions for Fortune 500 companies. He has managed
and delivered compliance, auditing and data integration solutions for
companies in the Refining, Chemical, Energy and Wood-Products industries.
In addition, Mr. Orton has led software implementations for air, water,
waste and compliance for a wide variety of clients in the Refining,
Chemical, and Aerospace industries.
"In today's complex, multi-regulatory world, business executives are
challenged to quantify their companies' environmental problems, manage
sustainability and GHG emissions, organize compliance and H&S records and
accurately report to regulators. All of these tasks demand up-to-date,
valid data. This information is typically poorly organized and challenging
to retrieve. Locus is revolutionizing the industry by putting data at the
customer's fingertips 24/7," said Orton.
"What attracted me to Locus is they are helping major corporations change
the way they do business by delivering a new generation of integrated
Environmental Management software through the SaaS model," said Orton.
"While the majority of Locus' competitors are creating one or two single
specific environmental software applications, Locus is focused on
developing a universal portal platform, Locus ePortal, from which current
and future applications can be deployed," continued Orton.
"I am very excited about the universal platform and its expansion to
accommodate air emissions calculations, GHG management, sustainability and
compliance services to Locus existing and future clients," said Orton.
"We are very pleased that Mr. Lance Orton has decided to join our company
after a long tenure with one of the premiere air consulting firms in the
country. His domain expertise in air environmental management services will
accelerate Locus' whole product offerings in the environmental software
arena," said Neno Duplancic, President and CEO of Locus Technologies.
"The time is right and market forces are in place to expand Locus'
award-winning environmental SaaS platform to the underserved markets of air
emissions, compliance, GHG, and sustainability. Locus' customers using our
portal products on the water side of the business will be able to enjoy the
same platform, with the same ease and, more importantly, Single Sign ON
(SSO), to manage all environmental compliance tasks across entire
enterprise using Locus' SaaS model and Web 2.0 technologies," said
Duplancic.
