Top Generali Exec Joins U.S. RE

PEARL RIVER, NY--(Marketwire - April 7, 2008) - Riccardo Nicolini, a long-time senior executive of Assicurazioni Generali, Italy's leading international insurance company, has joined The U.S. RE Group, Tal P. Piccione, Chairman and CEO, announced.

"We're especially pleased to have Riccardo Nicolini on the U.S. RE team. He will serve as a Senior Consultant on business development as we move into new markets. At The Generali, Riccardo was responsible for international business development in insurance and reinsurance. Nicolini came to U.S. RE from Arch Re where he served for four years as General Manager of the European Representative Office with headquarters in Trieste, Italy.

Nicolini served for 39 years with The Generali, rising from an entry level position in accounting and administration to President of Generali USA, a post he held from 1984 to 2000. Nicolini later headed global reinsurance in the Company's Trieste headquarters.

Earlier, he managed Generali operations in Latin America and the Reinsurance Department of Generali Global in London. Nicolini holds a degree in political science from the University of Trieste, Italy.
