Narus Provides Enhanced Managed Security Services Module

Adds New Portal Functionality to NarusInsight Secure Suite, New Applications to Detect and Manage Gray VoIP Traffic, and a Tool Kit to Create Custom Traffic Intelligence Solutions

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - April 8, 2008) - Narus, Inc. today announced significant enhancements to its NarusInsight Secure Suite (NSS) application. Historically used for network security and mitigation, enhancements to NSS provide enhanced managed security. Narus also announced two new applications for real-time traffic intelligence: NarusInsight Traffic Management Suite (NTMS) and NarusInsight Traffic Intelligence Platform (NTIP). NTMS addresses service provider revenue loss by detecting, analyzing and mitigating gray or unmanaged VoIP traffic, while NTIP is offered as a customizable, high-performance traffic intelligence application development platform for service providers and governments. Both are based on Narus' award-winning NarusInsight™ technology.

NarusInsight Secure Suite (NSS)

Designed for large enterprises, service providers and government organizations to protect and manage their IP networks, NSS provides real-time identification and mitigation of any unwanted, unwarranted or malicious traffic. Enhancements to NSS enable service providers to offer enhanced managed security services to their enterprise customers. New NSS features include:

-- Enhanced customer portal to view enterprise customers' real-time event
    and network usage
-- Network security reports by customer outlining cost savings, amount of
bandwidth saved and number of attacks addressed
-- Reports by customer on application usage statistics and trends,
inbound and outbound traffic usage statistics, and a list of users
    consuming the most bandwidth

NarusInsight Traffic Management Suite (NTMS)

Designed specifically for global service providers, NTMS is a flexible, scalable application suite that provides real-time IP traffic classification, analysis and mitigation with a particular focus on detecting gray or unmanaged VoIP traffic. An increasingly popular form of communication, VoIP services revenue is estimated to reach $18 billion by 2010, according to Juniper Research. Unfortunately for many service providers and governments, a significant percentage of VoIP traffic is gray VoIP, typically used to avoid tariffs and toll charges incurred for a voice call. As a result, service providers are losing millions of dollars in service revenue, and governments are losing an equal amount in toll-related taxes.

By implementing NTMS, service providers will be able to detect, mitigate and report on the traffic (including asymmetric traffic) going through their network; generate VoIP alerts; and create "black lists" and access list activity. This total network view results in improved system performance, lower operational expenses and a protected revenue stream.

NarusInsight Traffic Intelligence Platform (NTIP)

NTIP, a high-performance traffic intelligence application development platform, is an ideal choice for organizations that need traffic intelligence but wish to develop custom applications to address unique problems specific to their business. Available to service providers and governments and easily integrated with existing systems, NTIP provides Narus' patented NarusInsight technology to customers who want to develop their own applications. Organizations using NTIP reap the benefit of the scalable, real-time capture of the IP traffic passing through their networks, while also using customized applications that fit their specific needs for mediation, network protection, traffic interception and network analysis. NTMS and NTIP are available now, and deployed with several customers around the world.

NarusInsight Intercept Suite (NIS)

Additionally, Narus announced enhancements to its NIS application. These enhancements make it easier for service providers and governments to capture and precision-target a larger variety of IP traffic and to more easily manage their broadly deployed systems. Used for forensic analysis, IP intercept or to satisfy regulatory compliance, new features of NIS include:

-- Increased performance and enhanced user management and security
    capabilities
-- Improved intercept management capabilities with added user types
-- Enhanced Webmail features, such as the ability to target and
reconstruct Gawab 2.0 English and Arabic Webmail and Gmail 2008 Webmail
-- Dynamic MPLS targeting capabilities
