The First International Agreement for Travel Insurance Is Signed

Club Méditerranée Chooses Europ Assistance and Marsh to Run Its Worldwide Travel Insurance Programme


WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - May 20, 2008) - Club Méditerranée, the Europ Assistance Group and Marsh have signed a ground-breaking agreement in the tourism market allowing the first international travel insurance programme to be launched.

A genuine innovation in the travel insurance market, among other things this international programme will now make it possible to manage Club Med's travel risks with a high degree of precision, reflecting its top of the range, user friendly and multicultural positioning policy, while offering unique and innovative cover solutions. As a result, Club Med will now be able to offer its clients in 21 countries a range of cover solutions adapted to the characteristics of the market concerned and to local attitudes to risks.

With the signing of this agreement, Club Méditerranée and the Europ Assistance Group (who are already partners in France, Belgium, Italy and the United Kingdom for insurance, and longstanding partners for GM® and GO® assistance worldwide) are taking their business relationship a stage further, and now offering a leading international product range.

In France, the new packaged offer (which will continue to be referred to as Ecran Total), combines all the advantages of a top of the range fully comprehensive travel policy, including cancellation on any grounds, with a range of cover features vital to anyone taking part in sporting activities (such as stays cancelled due to a lack of snow or excessive snowfall, and warranties for sports or leisure equipment).

This innovative agreement will enable Club Méditerranée to gain a valuable head start in the management of travel-related risks and to manage its quality positioning in the tourism market. It also demonstrates the Europ Assistance Group's capacity for innovation and dynamism when it comes to supporting all of its clients internationally, and over the long term. To bring this project to fruition, the entire Marsh network has been involved, in order to be able to provide Club Méditerranée with its best resources and expertise in the field of risk management.
