DETROIT, May 21, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Montreal based international singer-songwriter, Chantal Chamandy is set to perform her new "Beladi" Concert at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn on July 3, 2008 at 8PM.
In September 2007, at the base of the Pyramids in Cairo, Egypt and accompanied by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, the Montreal-based singer performed before a dazzling show of music and dance that spotlighted some of the last wonders of the ancient world. Thousands of spectators attended this unique, historic performance, entitled Chantal Chamandy, Beladi, an Evening at the Pyramids.
The event was recorded and broadcast nationally by public television stations across the U.S. in March of 2008. Chantal previewed the Beladi special in Michigan at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn before it was released nationally to public broadcasting stations.

The live concert in Detroit will recreate the television special utilizing an eclectic Middle Eastern theme of over 30 musicians and performers. This much-awaited and anticipated performance will be the first of its kind to premiere in Michigan.
