Cleantech Group Launched by Wolf Greenfield, Boston

Firm Hosts Seminar on Clean Technology and IP on June 11

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - May 30, 2008) - Boston intellectual property law firm Wolf, Greenfield & Sacks, P.C. has created a cleantech practice group to formalize its practice in representing companies in various segments of the clean-energy industry.

Headed by shareholders Joseph Teja Jr. and Michael J. Pomianek, the Cleantech Group includes 13 lawyers and six Ph.D. technology specialists.

Because most cleantech breakthroughs involve combining different technical disciplines, the group's multidisciplinary approach benefits clients by taking advantage of Wolf Greenfield's expertise in chemistry and chemical engineering, materials science, biotech, electrical engineering, optics, and mechanical engineering. The firm has served cleantech companies involved in alternative energy, energy storage, "green" chemistry, pollution abatement, and recycling, among others.

"We've been working more intensively with clean technology industries, and the time is right to formalize the practice area," said Timothy J. Oyer, Wolf Greenfield president and managing partner. "The Cleantech group focuses our resources, helps us share ideas internally, and streamlines client support."

Besides serving emerging and established cleantech companies, the group also represents academic and research institutions as well as investors looking to identify and invest in next-generation clean technologies. Services include IP strategic planning; patent and trademark acquisition; patentability, infringement, and validity studies; IP audits and due diligence; licensing and tech transfer; interferences; competitor analysis, and infringement enforcement and defense.
