Mariner's Choice Sponsors Kids Fishing Derby Hosted by Champion Fisherman David Chong

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 1, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Mariner's Choice International Inc. (Pink Sheets:MCII) sponsors "Catch a Dream" fishing derby hosted by David Chong, a true ambassador of the sport of fishing in Canada.

The event took place on June 28th, in Orillia, Ontario. It was a fun-filled day for more than 50 "little brothers and sisters", who enjoyed hours of fishing. Each went out on a boat with a pro fisherman. The catch of the day was a Northern Pike, weighing in just under 10 lb. The event raises funds to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada.

Chong is one of the sport fishermen Mariner's Choice sponsors. His career titles and tournament finishes include 2007 Bassmania "Ex-Tour" Angler of the Year, and numerous others. He writes articles for several magazines, organizes the educational "Bass Talk" seminar series (www.basstalk.ca), as well as takes the lead in the annual "Catch a Dream" Kids Fishing Derby in Orillia, Ontario (www.catchadream.ca).

He has put Mariner's Choice products to the test with proven results. "I have been impressed with the performance of Mariner's Choice products and the fact that they are eco-safe is a great attribute that I am proud to promote to the people in the industry wherever I go," states Chong. "I am pleased to have had Mariner's Choice participate again this year at the 'Catch a Dream' Kids Fishing Derby. It is one of the largest events of its kind, hosting more than 50 boaters to take as many kids out for the day to experience fishing and boating. The derby has been attracting more attention each year, and we had over 300 attendees at this year's event," he added. Mariner's Choice was there showcasing the full product line and providing prize packages.

Chong has become one of the most recognizable and well-known tournament anglers in Canada. Along with Mariner's Choice, he is supported by a number of notable corporate sponsors, including Yamaha Motor Canada, Mizmo Bait Company, Ranger Boats, and Daiwa Rod & Reels, just to name a few.

"Our association with David Chong has brought many opportunities for Mariner's Choice. In fact, we have a meeting with an agent coming from Japan later this month, which came as a connection through David," states Amie Hingston, President & CEO of Mariner's Choice. "This is just one example of the ways our affiliates help expand the network and spread the good word about our product line and turn them into tangible results. Furthermore, we welcome the opportunity to give back to the community through events like this. We look forward to continuing our relationship with industry professionals like David," further states Hingston.
