Pets Get Green PAWS in August

Pet Promise Partners With PAWS Chicago to Help Save Homeless Companions

BOULDER, CO--(Marketwire - July 31, 2008) - The heat of August brings the dog days of summer, but all pets can benefit from a partnership between PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) Chicago and Pet Promise natural pet food.

With events this summer in two Pet Supplies Plus stores, six Chicago neighborhood festivals and 16 PETCO stores, pet owners will have a chance to support PAWS Chicago and get tips on eco-friendly pet care and natural food for pets. They can also channel their inner Andy Warhol and have free pop art pictures taken of their pets. For every picture taken, Pet Promise will donate $1 to PAWS Chicago. Up to $10,000 will be donated from the 32 event days that will take place during the summer months.

The Chicago events are a part of Pet Promise's 'Pets For The Planet' campaign, which supports Pet Promise's commitment to environmental practices. These practices include sourcing protein exclusively from natural U.S. farms and ranches, where the animals are raised humanely and sustainably. Pet Promise ensures its pet food does not contain any chicken meals, animal byproducts or rendered meat and only uses meat and poultry protein sources raised without added growth hormones or antibiotics.

PAWS Chicago helps operate a facility where cats and dogs have plenty of space to play. The organization has saved thousands of pets from being euthanized in Chicago, with its policy of doing anything possible to save a homeless pet.

The free pop art photos of your pet will be taken at neighborhood festivals, PETCO, and Pet Supplies Plus stores in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and can be retrieved at: http://www.petpromiseinc.com.
