Data Robotics Partners With Aperture Nature Photography Workshops to Connect Photographers With Leading Storage Technology

Data Robotics Sponsors Aperture Workshop Lead by Photography Veteran, Scott Bourne

SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - August 21, 2008) - Today, Data Robotics, the makers of Drobo, announced that it is sponsoring the Aperture Nature Photography Workshop Series. The series, beginning in September 2008, pairs amateurs with working professional photographers to make fantastic images at America's most beautiful locations, while learning how to get the most out of Apple's powerful photo editing and management software, Aperture. As a sponsor, Data Robotics will provide each participating photographer with its award-winning Drobo product.

"Our support of the Aperture Nature Photography Workshop is an example of our commitment to make simple, safe, and expandable storage technology available to photography enthusiasts," said Geoff Barrall, CEO and co-founder of Data Robotics. "We are honored to work with a digital media pioneer like Scott Bourne to help educate photographers on the 'ins and outs' of using Drobo in their Aperture workflows to protect irreplaceable image files."

"Drobo has earned a reputation within the Mac community as being the 'go to' storage solution, so partnering with Data Robotics on this project seems like the most natural choice for us -- and something we expect will make workshop participants all the more successful," said Scott Bourne, president of Bourne Media Group, the co-founder of the Workshop. "This workshop will provide an opportunity for pro-photographers to share techniques and best practices, while experiencing the benefits of world-class industry products, such as Drobo, in a fully immersive field environment."

Drobo is an external storage array with intelligent, automated set up and maintenance features that simplify operations for the user. The product easily expands in capacity as the user's data collection grows over time. Since the 2007 launch of Drobo, Data Robotics has received a 2007 Macworld Editor's Choice ("Eddy") award, an American Photo "Editors Choice 2008" Award, along with 21 other industry awards and accolades from peers, analysts and top tier publications who endorse Drobo's technology as the easiest-to-use, most expandable and safest multi-drive desktop storage array available.

The first expedition of the series begins September 24th, 2008 at the Grand Teton National Park in Jackson, Wyoming. For more information, please visit: http://aperturenatureworkshops.com/
