Griswold Special Care Gathers Panel of Experts to Discuss Care Choices for Individuals and Their Families

Free October Workshops Scheduled at Livonia Library's Carl Sandburg Branch


LIVONIA, MI--(Marketwire - September 15, 2008) - The Metro Detroit Northwest office of Griswold Special Care (GSC), www.gscdetroit.com, is hosting free workshops on Tuesdays, October 7 and 21, 2008, that are specially designed for the "sandwich generation," to help them make informed choices about their own care or the care of family members.

Along with presentations by Griswold Special Care, which provides non-medical home care services to help people remain in their home, a panel of experts from various disciplines will be on hand to discuss care options, along with medical, financial and legal issues.

"Too often people receive conflicting information and may be unaware of the resources available to them when caring for a family member," said Mary Jane Gorman, director of Metro Detroit NW for Griswold Special Care. "Our panel of experts will help attendees navigate through these seemingly overwhelming decisions to enable them make the best choice for their family and lifestyle."

The October 7 workshop will include presenters from House Call Physicians about finding quality physicians who make house calls; Great Lakes Annuity, Life & Investment about funding life and care needs; and Arden Courts of Livonia about care choices for seniors and others with dementia and Alzheimer's.

The October 21 workshop presentations include Wells Fargo Home Mortgage about reverse mortgages; Angela Hospice about hospice care; and Attorney George S. Fedaris about estate plans.

Each presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, and light refreshments will be provided.

Both workshops will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Livonia Library Carl Sandburg Branch located at 30100 7 Mile Road, just west of Middlebelt Road in Livonia. Because space is limited, reservations are requested no later than October 3 for the October 7 workshop, and by October 17 for the October 21 session.
