Web Marketing Association Honors Web Applications Developed by Bridgeline Software

Schiff Hardin & Beverly Hospital Websites by Bridgeline Software Earn WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Website Development

BOSTON, Sept. 26, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bridgeline Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:BLSW), a leading developer of SaaS-based web application management software and award-winning web applications, announced today that two web applications it developed for Beverly Hospital and Schiff Hardin were recently honored in the WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Website Development by the Web Marketing Association.

Founded by the Web Marketing Association in 1997, the WebAwards is the annual standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best websites in 96 industry categories submitted by interactive agencies and website marketing departments in more than 47 countries from around the world. The goal of the WebAwards is to provide a forum to recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective websites on the Internet today.

Winning in both the Health Care Standard of Excellence and Non-Profit Standard of Excellence categories is the Beverly Hospital website (www.beverlyhospital.org). Beverly Hospital is part of Northeast Health System, Inc. (NHS), an integrated healthcare network of hospitals, behavioral health, long-term care and human service affiliates on the North Shore of Massachusetts. In developing the new Beverly Hospital web application, Bridgeline's Boston-based team designed and developed a completely new and vastly more interactive user experience. The new site offers streamlined site navigation enabling users to more easily access content and features such as a physician finder and appointment registration tool. Additionally, administrative capabilities built into an integrated content management solution, allow the Hospital marketing team to coordinate home page and interior site content to video and direct mail campaigns that they launch.

Winning in the Legal Standard of Excellence category is the Schiff-Hardin website (www.schiffhardin.com). Schiff-Hardin is a general practice law firm with over 400 attorneys in offices located in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Lake Forest, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. Working with Schiff-Hardin's internal marketing group, Bridgeline's Chicago-based team developed a new web application that offers visitors engaging content and intuitive access to defined practice groups, firm promotions, attorneys, and other services provided by the firm. Repeat visitors to the site are remembered and provided quick access to information they have previously visited. Additionally, implicit personalization is built into the site and offers recommended content based on the navigational path of the user. For example, users accessing an attorney profile by drilling through a particular practice area such as Patent Litigation, will see that practice area highlighted in the attorney profile as it is of interest to the site user. This delivery mechanism is used throughout the site to emphasize content that is clearly relevant to site users.

"Our development teams work very hard to develop world class web-based solutions for our customers," said Thomas Massie, Bridgeline President and CEO. "Recognition by the WebAwards is an industry honor and a testament to the quality of our development and design team's capabilities.
