Broadcast Management Group Partners With ARTE France to Provide Live 70-Minute Post-Election Roundtable for International Audience

WASHINGTON, Nov. 3, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Citizens of France and portions of Germany will have access to a live, 70-minute, post-election round-table discussion from Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, November 5 on ARTE France.

The newscast's production management services are being handled by the Broadcast Management Group (BMG), formerly Mason Productions, and will be moderated by host and well-known French Newsman and Producer Daniel Leconte. Panelists will include international academics, journalists and pundits and the topic will be the outcome of the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

The live ARTE France broadcast will have no commercial interruptions, but will include 10, two-minute news segments taped and produced around the nation's capital and broadcasted election night.

"The whole world is watching this election and we wanted to create a show with an international feel but seated where the story is taking place, Washington, D.C.," said Daniel Leconte, Producer at ARTE France. "We realized that we needed assistance managing this production in the U.S. This meant we needed to find a productions management company that could handle a live broadcast with a quick turnaround time."

The BMG team, headed by Production Manager Brendan Kownacki, will handle the logistics and provide management for ARTE's French production team. The host and guest will speak a variety of languages that will be translated in real time by the BMG staff.

"BMG was able to partner with ARTE and become a seamless extension of their production team," said Todd Mason, Chairman/CEO of BMG and Executive in Charge of Productions for the ARTE broadcast. "Our goal was to partner with ARTE and allow them to tell a story from where the story is taking place. ARTE could have filmed in France in a studio, but to get the feel of the elections ARTE knew they needed to be in the nation's capital and we are glad to help."

The news show will begin airing live at 4:28 Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday, November 5.
