GSC Logistics Names Clement Chin and Richard Norton to Its Executive Team


OAKLAND, CA--(Marketwire - November 13, 2008) - GSC Logistics, Inc., the industry's forward-thinking logistics provider, announced that it has named two new executives to its leadership team. Clement Chin, a veteran of international transportation and logistics, has been named vice president of business development, while supply chain management expert Richard Norton has been promoted to the role of vice president of operations.

Clement Chin - Vice President of Business Development

Before joining GSC, Mr. Chin was the principle of a San Francisco Bay Area transportation and logistics company serving small to mid-size shippers. For over 30 years, he has had significant experience and responsibilities in logistics, marketing, and business development, including APL, the Port of Oakland, and the Southern Pacific Railroad. Chin has been instrumental in developing customer services and innovative supply chain solutions, including the commercial advancement of domestic containerization and application of double-stack rail technology in addition to service expansion into new domestic and international markets.

Chin holds a B.A. degree in business economics from New York State University College and an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He is active with many professional organizations, including the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA), the Warehouse Education and Resource Council (WERC), and the Waterfront Coalition.

Richard Norton - Vice President of Operations

Over the past seven years, Mr. Norton has managed the regional operations for GSC with responsibility for all inbound and outbound logistics and transportation. He has successfully managed many projects, including implementation of GSC's state-of-the-art transportation management system and the design and launch of an import/export trans-load facility at the Port of Oakland. Prior to joining GSC, Norton managed the West Coast operations for an electronic commerce company, where he was committed to building relationships with major retail partners and expanding the business to five fulfillment centers across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Norton earned a B.B.A. in business administration from the University of Michigan. He plays an active role with the California Trucking Association (CTA) and the Warehouse Education and Resource Council (WERC).
