Offerpal Media and MySpace Open Platform Team to Conduct "DevJam" for Application Developers

Workshop to Explain Best Practices for Monetizing Virtual Currency

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - January 28, 2009) - Offerpal Media, the leading monetization platform for application developers, game developers and social publishers, and MySpace, the world's premiere social network, will co-host a MySpace developers' workshop, or "DevJam." The event will take place on Thursday, February 5th from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at MySpace's San Francisco offices, located at 625 2nd Street. The DevJam will feature several of social networking's most successful application developers, who will share firsthand experiences building, marketing and monetizing applications on the MySpace platform. Developers are asked to register for the free event at http://myspacedevjam.eventbrite.com/.

The workshop will focus on monetization through virtual currency, which has quickly emerged as a proven method to deliver value throughout the social networking ecosystem -- for publishers and advertisers as well as consumers -- and now serves as the monetization engine for the hottest applications on social networks and standalone Web sites. As part of this special event, selected developers will receive in-depth reviews of their MySpace applications from a team of experts. Participants will also hear directly from lead MySpace developers about the latest updates to the MySpace platform.

The annual virtual goods market is estimated at $2 billion and growing daily. Those who understand the dynamics of this economy have a unique opportunity to earn a significant piece of this pie. Today, more than 2,000 social web publishers rely on Offerpal Media as a way to monetize their traffic, and most are earning significant revenues through its virtual currency-based embedded offers model.
