Association of Energy Services Professionals Announces Winners of Its Annual Energy Awards


PHOENIX, Feb. 10, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Association of Energy Services Professionals (www.aesp.org) bestowed its AESP Energy Awards at its 19th National Energy Services Conference held January 26-29, 2009 in San Diego. The AESP Energy Awards recognize individuals, teams or organizations that have:



 *    Contributed to the advancement of the energy services field
 *    Raised awareness of an energy services program or need
 *    Represented the "best in class" in designing, implementing, or
      evaluating an energy services program, or
 *    Demonstrated an outstanding commitment to advancing the energy
      services field.

This year's award recipients were:



 *    Ontario Power Authority (www.powerauthority.on.ca) -- Outstanding
      Achievement in Market Research and Evaluation for its Electric
      Personalities in Ontario: A Consumer Segmentation Based
      on Electricity Conservation Behavior and Motivations program.
 *    Oncor Electric Delivery (www.oncor.com) -- Outstanding
      Achievement in Marketing and Communications for its Take A
      Load Off, Texas(tm) (TALOT) program.
 *    Marketing Drive (www.marketingdrive.com) and National Grid
      (www.nationalgrid.com) -- Outstanding Achievement in Energy
      Program Design or Implementation for the Millville Elementary
      School "Power to Save" campaign.
 *    Progress Energy (www.progress-energy.com) -- Outstanding
      Achievement in Program Design or Implementation for the Progress
      Energy Neighborhood Energy Savers Program(sm).

Merit awards were also given to:



 *    Ameren Illinois Utilities (www.ameren.com) -- Merit award for
      Outstanding Achievement in Marketing and Communications for its
      Act On Energy(tm) communications platform.
 *    San Diego Gas & Electric (www.sdge.com) -- Merit award for
      Outstanding Achievement in Program Design and Implementation for
      the San Diego Retrocommissioning (RCx) program.
 *    Pacific Gas and Electric (www.pge.com) -- Merit award for
      Outstanding Achievement in Program Design and Implementation for
      its Comprehensive HVAC Energy Efficiency program.

"We received over 85 nominations for this year's AESP Energy Awards," said AESP President and CEO Meg Matt. "Each submission is peer-reviewed by members of the Association working in the field."

A call-for-award entries for AESP's 2010 Energy Awards will be announced later this year. The 2010 award winners will be announced at AESP's 20th National Energy Services Conference, February 8-11, 2010 in Tucson, AZ.
