BARCELONA, SPAIN--(Marketwire - February 16, 2009) - Mobile World Congress -- Xandros today announced a turnkey software solution with a new, compelling user experience running on the advanced Freescale i.MX515 processor featuring ARM® Cortex™-A8 technology. The Xandros solution for Freescale's i.MX515 device will be demonstrated for the first time at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona, Spain, February 16-19, 2009.

The Xandros solution offers fast boot, long battery life, and reliable 3G connectivity. An integrated stack of Xandros software, components and resources helps OEMs to quickly develop and deploy compelling netbook products.

The Xandros solution for Freescale chipsets comes with tools to customize its functions and interface for specific markets and user demographics. It includes a unique, custom brandable online Application Store for access to software, games, multimedia and web applications, enabling one-time and recurring revenue streams for OEMs, service providers and carriers. Full-featured user applications include a browser, push-based email, PIM, instant messaging, a photo viewer, a media player, and an office suite to create and edit Microsoft Office documents. All applications support both keyboards and touch screens, and exhibit consistent appearances and behaviors.
