The Hero Awards were developed 12 years ago to honor senior living professionals who provide extraordinary care by going above and beyond expectations to surprise and delight residents. This year, ALFA is honoring the five honorees at its 2009 Conference & Expo, May 5-7, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Assisted Living Federation of America is the only professional association exclusively dedicated to companies operating professionally managed assisted living communities for seniors. With over 500 large and small company members nationwide, ALFA serves as the voice for senior living, focusing on operational excellence and advocating on behalf of their members and the seniors they serve.

The 2009 conference launches ALFA 2.0, a web-based resource for education, information, networking, employment opportunities and public policy issues relevant to the executives of senior living companies. "ALFA 2.0 gives us the opportunity to improve our member service and responsiveness," noted Grimes.
