Honeywell Selects Vyatta for Network Virtualization

BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2009) - Vyatta, the leader in open networking and network virtualization, today announced that Honeywell has implemented Vyatta's award winning routing and security software to simulate production manufacturing systems for use in training, system development, and testing. Vyatta was the only solution able to deliver routing and firewalling within a virtual environment that exactly mirrored Honeywell's physical network infrastructure.

Honeywell's Specialty Materials Division wanted to build a VMware-based lab environment that would exactly simulate its production systems for training and testing purposes. To do so, Honeywell needed a virtualization solution that could meet specific criteria: it must be able to isolate the simulated systems from the live network, configure the router and firewall to simulate applications talking across physical networks, and ensure the network in the VMware environment had the same parameters as the physical production network. Vyatta's unique ability to deliver complete network virtualization made it the only solution that met all of Honeywell's criteria for the simulated environment.
