TeraRecon Reports Strong Sales Growth and Aquarius iNtuition(TM) 4.4 Installs at DRK 2009

BERLIN--(Marketwire - May 20, 2009) - TeraRecon, Inc. (www.terarecon.com), a global provider of advanced visualization and decision support solutions, announced strong sales growth in the German market and early successful installations of Aquarius iNtuition ("AQi") Version 4.4, at the 90th Deutsche Roentgenkongress, held at Messe Berlin, Germany from May 20th to 23rd 2009.

TeraRecon GmbH Geschäftsführer, Robert Taylor Ph.D. said, "With AQi 4.4, TeraRecon has delivered the world's first fully-featured client server advanced visualization solution, with true scalability and enough power to handle the most demanding enterprise. There is no other solution available today that can offer as many advanced applications to as many concurrent users, from a single server installation. As such, AQi offers the best-in-class solution for every advanced visualization requirement, from a single CT scanner requiring two or three concurrent users, to a large, distributed enterprise with multiple sites and modalities."

The company stated that Aquarius iNtuition 4.4 is the only true client-server advanced visualization technology available on the market today that can address the suite of applications generally expected to be available. iNtuition does not use 'remote control via the web' technology to achieve a facsimile of 'thin-client' operation, but rather, AQi has been designed from the ground up as a truly native client-server technology platform. AQi leverages advanced pre-processing to prepare segmentation, centerlines, detection and anatomy labeling all in advance of the physician opening the case for interpretation.

Among the new features available with AQi 4.4 are the fully-browser-based AquariusWEB viewer, dedicated tools for Endovascular Aortic Repair Planning (EVAR), user-customizable measurement protocols with export to XML, CSV or text format for RIS interfacing, and a comprehensive package for CT Colon review, supporting both Primary 2D and Primary 3D interpretation styles. Also included are a Time-Dependence Analysis (TDA) package for perfusion studies, and an enhanced client-server version of the company's "SAT" oncology package, supporting segmentation, analysis and tracking of masses and lesions from CT or MR data in any anatomical location, including lung (nodule analysis), brain and liver.

AQi 4.4 has already been deployed to several University Clinics in Germany, as well as to a number of large hospitals and private practices.

Dr. Christopher Herzog of the Red Cross Clinic in Munich said, "iNtuition 4.4 has achieved a new standard in advanced visualization, with all the applications that were previously restricted to standalone workstations truly available via a thin client application. In addition, iNtuition's user interface is truly a significant advance. The 'Workflow Template' system allows such unprecedented automation and streamlining of the interpretation and therapy planning process, iNtuition has set a new standard. Having experienced iNtuition, we will not be able to revert to the old way of working again."
