Company More Than Doubles Revenue Over 2008; Expands Global Support; Introduces VirtualWisdom

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - July 29, 2009) - Virtual Instruments, a leader in virtual infrastructure optimization, today announced a banner fiscal year 2009, ending June 2009. The fiscal year closed with a year-over-year revenue growth rate up over 200 percent, enabling the company to significantly grow its employee base and open its first European offices. New customer adoption amongst Global 2000 data centers was strong and spread across a range of industries around the globe, including Kaiser Permanente, McKesson, American Eagle Outfitters, Austrian Lotteries, Barclaycard US, DB Systel, Infoprint, JPS Health, Logica, Roche, Sparkassen, Unilever and Ural Lotto.

Virtual Instruments' attributed its growth to very strong adoption of NetWisdom and VirtualWisdom products and services, which dramatically reduce the capital and operating expenses associated with the storage area network (SAN) and virtual server infrastructure.

"We have been very successful in adding new customers, hiring top quality people, and in expanding global 24/7 support, despite tough economic conditions," said Mark Urdahl, chief executive officer, Virtual Instruments. "Our achievements reflect the critical need for Global 2000 enterprises to improve the utilization, performance and availability of both physical and virtual enterprise infrastructure while minimizing business risk."

Virtual Instruments was included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the "Cool Vendors in Storage Technology and Systems, 2009" report by Gartner, Inc. Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enabling users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, having, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, having caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.

Additionally, Virtual Instruments significantly expanded its executive management team, by bringing on new marketing, engineering, sales, and services executives. The two most recent additions were VP of Sales Sean Maxwell, who joined Virtual Instruments directly from EMC and VI Fellow Joseph R Mathis, Sr., a 30-year veteran of IBM and original architect of the Fibre Channel standard. Fellows are recognized technology visionaries who bring unique technology expertise and customer perspective into the Company.

Among other noteworthy accomplishments, Virtual Instruments introduced VirtualWisdom, a new solution that provides comprehensive, real-time instrumentation and measurement capabilities that enable IT managers to optimize the performance and availability of their virtualized IT infrastructure. VirtualWisdom adds SAN I/O intelligence to VMware environments, enabling administrators to better balance the deployment of virtual machines based on real-time measurements of I/O performance.
