Blackrock Resources Inc. Announces Proposed Name Change to Black Mountain Resources Inc.

RENO, Nev., Aug. 27, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Blackrock Resources Inc. (OTCBB:BCKR) today filed articles of amendment with the Secretary of State requesting that its name be changed from Blackrock Resources Inc. to Black Mountain Resources Inc. As previously disclosed in its Form 10-Q Quarterly Report filed on August 19, 2009, in July 2009, the Company received correspondence from BlackRock Inc. (NYSE:BKR), a company listed on the NYSE trading under the symbol BKR, claiming that the use of "Blackrock" in the Company's name infringes upon BlackRock Inc.'s registered service mark. Since BlackRock Inc. threatened legal action if the name of the Company was not changed, the management of the Company has deemed it in the best interests of the Company and its shareholders to change its name to Black Mountain Resources Inc., rather than fight a costly legal battle to retain the name of Blackrock Resources Inc.

The Company's proposed name change to Black Mountain Resources Inc. is subject to approval by FINRA and the Nevada Secretary of State. In anticipation of the name change, the Company has registered a new domain name at www.blackmountainresources.com and has deactivated its old website.

The Company will keep its shareholders informed as it obtains approval from FINRA. The Company anticipates that FINRA will issue a new trading symbol to reflect the name change of the Company.
