Keep It Real Rx Cares for Troops

Reconnecting With Loved Ones Through a Board Game

NEW YORK, Sept. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Trance4mation Games, L.L.C. announced today that through its Welcome Back Home Project, it will donate 150 Keep It Real Rx board games to Guard Families at the State Symposium for Guard Families through the New York National Guard Family Programs, being held in Saratoga Springs, NY on Saturday, September 19, 2009. The Keep It Real Welcome Back Home Project's mission is to help veterans and their families and loved ones rebuild connectivity of mind, heart, and spirit, and to renew their relationships. Trance4mation Games is seeking to provide Keep It Real Games to returning veterans, and to any veteran who wishes to renew and rebuild communication and bonds with their loved ones.

While soldiers slowly transition from combat to family and community life, Keep It Real Rx will allow them to be open to sharing their thoughts, feelings, and memories with their loved ones. "The Keep It Real Rx game is a communication board game which triggers playfulness, spontaneity, relaxation, dialogue, a full range of communication, and mutual enjoyment," says Leslie Robinson, CEO of Trance4mation Games, L.L.C. "The game is non-confrontational and gently allows each player to join in at their own pace, and in their own time. The result is that players gain a sense of companionship and of belonging. Playing this game has proven to reduce feelings of alienation, as the game play allows each player to make a positive contribution in sharing their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, dreams, memories, creativity, and imaginations. Sharing of one's authentic self raises self-esteem and brings about emotional closeness, which can act as an antidote to depression," she added.

As part of the Welcome Back Home project, Leslie Robinson plans to donate more games to returning troops at various Yellow Ribbon events nationwide. The Welcome Back Home project will continue to explore ways to have Keep It Real games reach veteran's homes.

Keep It Real Rx will launch nationwide and will be available for purchase soon. Check the website for updates and additional information: www.keepitrealgame.com.

About The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program

In July 2008 the NYARNG Soldier and Family Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program was placed into action in conjunction with the passing of Public Law (P.L.) 110-181, which mandates a reintegration program for our returning Soldiers. This program is designed to provide redeploying Soldiers and families a robust support network of information and services available from county, state, federal and private outreach organization upon their return home.

The program consists of two mandatory events scheduled approximately 30 and 60 days after Soldiers return home. These events are conducted in an Individual Duty Training (IDT) status. The goal of these events is to reconnect Soldiers and their families with each other. For more information, please go to www.dmna.state.ny.us.
