European Parliament Selects Mule ESB Enterprise as Backbone for Enterprise-Wide Architecture

MuleSoft to Provide Fully Supported Open Source Integration Solution With a Dramatically Lower TCO Than Alternatives

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - MuleSoft today announced that the European Parliament has selected Mule ESB as the backbone for their service-oriented architecture (SOA).

The European Parliament plans to deploy Mule ESB at the core of an enterprise-wide SOA spanning multiple geographies, leveraging a standards-based Web Services infrastructure and potentially allowing new uses for existing applications across multiple data centers. In selecting Mule ESB, the European Parliament joins the thousands of organizations in the Mule community who have contributed to Mule's becoming the industry-leading open source ESB, with over 1.5 million downloads and 2,000 production deployments.

Public sector organizations across the EU are increasingly looking for ways to improve integration across application silos, maximize reuse of existing assets, and improve agility and time to market for new services. Mule ESB provides organizations an open source option that meets their needs at a dramatically lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than legacy proprietary solution stacks.

"We view the European Parliament's selection of MuleSoft as great validation that the open source Mule ESB can deliver value to public sector organizations, and ultimately the taxpayers, at a fraction of the cost of commercial software, with the same or better functionality," said Gregory Brackett, director of EU sales, MuleSoft. "The European Parliament is widely recognized as an organization that prioritizes stability and reliability, and their decision to deploy Mule ESB, after two years of evaluation, is an important endorsement."

Through a regional delivery partner delivering the MuleSoft subscription, the European Parliament will enjoy robust support and consulting services, ensuring that they will address any issues that arise during the development and production phases of their Mule ESB projects. In addition, the European Parliament will meet its rigorous SLA requirements with out-of-the-box high availability and failover capabilities, as well as an integrated management console, both included with their Mule ESB Enterprise subscription.
