Fifth Annual "Accurate Predictions" Dinner Set for New York

FRIDAY HARBOR, WA--(Marketwire - November 13, 2009) - What happens when Strategic News Service CEO Mark Anderson, the only publicly graded technology predictions expert -- with a career accuracy average of over 96% -- releases his top predictions for the coming year? It gets a lot of attention. The global press shows up for this traditional annual event, together with leaders in finance and technology. The BBC conducts interviews from London, and Anderson spends a full week in New York from his base in Washington state, advising investors and technology companies on the ramifications of his future calls.

This year's 5th annual New York SNS Predictions Dinner will be held Thursday, December 10, at its traditional locale in the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel. Confirmed press includes Reuters, Bloomberg, the Financial Times, the New York Times, Fortune, BusinessWeek, Conde Nast, Strategy+Business, and others.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30pm followed by dinner seating at 7:30pm, leading to Anderson's Top Predictions for 2010, followed by Q&A.

"I look forward to the 2009 Predictions Dinner. It's always fun. -- I
remember the dinner from 2007, and Mark's discussions of that summer's 'fun
in finance' made for an eerily prophetic account of the last two years." --
Stephen Wellman, VP of Community & Content, Ziff Davis Enterprise

2008 attendees heard likely trends and events that most of the rest of the world would experience only as they happened over the course of the year. Among those predictions: Anderson suggested the Chinese GDP would dive from 11.5%+ to below 7.5%, perhaps reaching the 6%-7% range, adding that we would see Chinese exports drop, the country facing increased political chaos, with violent confrontations between unemployed workers and government troops increasing. Indeed, China's GDP dropped to 6.5% before stimulus spending, exports dropped, and revolts and protests have spouted around the country, from Guangdong workers to Uighur and Tibetan battles with the army. Anderson also discussed why this should affect attendees' business decisions.

Another prime prediction-turned-true was that CarryAlong PCs (also called "netbooks" or "minis") would see an explosion in market share as they became the fastest-growing computer segment.

Other predictions for 2009 included:

-- High-bandwidth/low-cost wireless broadband expansion in both developed and developing worlds

-- Increased use of voice recognition software in handsets with very high success rates, including the integration of voice-driven, Cloud-based Internet assistance on handhelds

-- Exploding numbers of smartphone apps, a drop in flash memory pricing allowing the PCs with no moving parts, and the first multi-user wall-sized computers

About Mark Anderson

Mark Anderson is most notably known for his accurate forecasts of important shifts in the economic landscape as well as in technology markets, having a 10-year publicly graded accuracy rate of over 96%. He was among the first to publicly predict the global economic collapse, on CNBC Europe PowerLunch in London, in March 2007. Anderson successfully predicted the recent split in the U.S. economy, the Q2 2009 chip rebound, and the March 2009 stock market bottom. His Congressional testimony on revising U.S. broadband policy helped unlock the "River of Money" now fueling startups and media transitions in the U.S., and his well-known term "AORTA" (Always On RealTime Access) became the name of Europe's first broadband network.
