Hurco Nearly Doubles Number of Visitors at EMO 2009

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 18, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Hurco (Nasdaq:HURC) booth at the 2009 EMO Exhibition, held in Milan, Italy, from October 5-10 had almost twice the number of visitors compared to the last EMO exhibition, according to Hurco registration information. "The show was extremely successful in not only the number of visitors to our booth but also the level of interest they had in our expanded product line with more than 14 new machines introduced since the last EMO exhibition," said Paolo Casazza, Managing Director of of Hurco Italy and Hurco Spain.

Of the 11 machines at the Hurco booth, it was the European premiere of six machining centers including the new U Series of compact 5-axis machining centers that feature an integrated trunnion table design and the addition of larger machining centers, such as the Dual Column DCX Series and the Dual Zone VTXZ Series.

The complete range of Hurco products has expanded to more than 40 models of milling, turning and multi-tasking machines. All of the Hurco products feature the proprietary Hurco control powered by Winmax software, which has been further empowered with new features that increase its performance and user friendliness.

During the six days of the exhibition, 124,660 visitors, representing 99 countries from five continents registered for the show, according to EMO MILANO organizers. "These figures," said Pier Luigi Streparava, the Commissioner General of EMO MILANO 2009, "emphasize the importance of the event that, despite the difficult economic context, proved its appeal by attracting the public attendance and approval. In other words, the offering of more than 1,400 companies, over a net stand area of 100,000 square meters and representing 39 countries, attracted the interest of operators all over the world."

The next EMO edition to be held in Milan, Italy, is scheduled for October 5-10, 2015, when the international show will be held in the capital of Lombardy.
